About Rivvet

What is Rivvet? +

Rivvet is the app your tradesperson uses to run your project — the quote, the stages, the photos of the work, your approvals and the payments. You get your own view of the same project.

Do I have to pay to use it? +

No. Rivvet is free for homeowners. Your tradesperson pays for their side of it.

How do I get access to my project? +

Your tradesperson invites you by email. Sign in at rivvet.co.uk with that address and the six-digit code we send you — there's no password to set up and nothing to install.

Do I need to download an app? +

No. Rivvet works in your phone's browser, and on a tablet or computer, with the same view everywhere.

Your project

What will I be able to see? +

The stages of your job with the value agreed for each one, the photos, video and voice notes your tradesperson adds as work is completed, an activity timeline, the job's location, and your invoices and receipts.

What exactly am I approving? +

One stage of work at a time, with the evidence for that stage attached. Approving it says you're satisfied that stage has been completed as agreed — not that the whole job is finished.

What if I'm not happy with a stage? +

Don't approve it. Leave feedback explaining your concerns; you and your tradesperson can communicate through Rivvet and provide supporting information to help resolve it.

Nothing becomes payable for that stage while it's unapproved.

Can someone else in my household approve stages? +

The invite goes to one email address. If the wrong person has it, ask your tradesperson to re-invite the right one, or change the email address on your account.

Paying for work

When do I have to pay? +

Nothing is due until you approve a stage. Once you have, you get up to 30 days to pay that stage.

How do I pay? +

By bank transfer. The stage screen shows the account details — tap to copy them into your banking app — then tap “I've paid” so your tradesperson knows it's on the way.

Do I get an invoice and a receipt? +

Yes. An invoice for each approved stage, and a receipt once the payment has been confirmed. Both download as PDFs from your project.

Does my tradesperson get paid before I do? +

They may choose to access up to 80% of an approved stage early, through Rivvet. That's between them and Rivvet — the amount you owe and the date you owe it don't change.

Is my money secure? +

Yes. Rivvet uses trusted payment providers and industry-standard security to protect your payments and information. Payments are handled through appropriately regulated financial partners — Rivvet does not operate as an informal wallet for project funds.

Your details

Can I change my name, phone or address? +

Yes — under More, then Account. Your details are prefilled from the job your tradesperson set up, and you can correct any of them.

Can I change my email address? +

Yes. Enter the new address and we'll send a confirmation link to it, so nobody can move your account to an address you don't control.

What data do you hold about me? +

Our privacy policy sets out exactly what we collect, what we don't do with it, and how to ask us to delete it.
