The short version
Rivvet is a shared record of building work: milestones, evidence and approvals, for the trade and the homeowner. We hold the data needed to keep that record — your account details, the evidence captured on jobs, and the verification documents trades provide — and we use it only to run the service. No third-party analytics, no advertising pixels, no tracking cookies, and we never sell your data. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Rivvet Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales under company number 17362673, whose registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, London, England, WC2H 9JQ. If you have a question about your data, or want to make a request under the rights below, email trade@rivvet.co.uk.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your email address, whether you use Rivvet as a trade or a homeowner, and a contact phone number if you provide one.
- Trade verification: to keep the platform trustworthy, trades provide business details (including Companies House records for limited companies, or a UTR/National Insurance number for sole traders — stored encrypted), a photo of an identity document and a selfie, and their trade and services.
- Job records and evidence: the heart of the product. Quotes, milestones, invoices, approvals, queries — and the photos, videos and voice notes captured as evidence of the work, stamped with the time and, for live captures, the GPS location of the capture. Evidence is stored in private cloud storage and shared only through the job it belongs to.
- Payment details: bank account details a trade provides so their customer can pay them, and records of the payments both sides log against a job.
- Notifications: if you enable push notifications, a device token that lets us deliver them. You can turn this off in your device settings.
- Activity and server logs: we keep first-party logs of how the app is used and standard server logs (including IP addresses), used for security, support and improving the product. These stay on our own systems.
2. What we don't do
- No third-party analytics or tracking.
- No advertising or marketing pixels.
- No tracking cookies.
- No selling or renting your data. Ever.
The app stores your sign-in session and a small number of preferences on your device using local storage.
3. How we use your data
To run Rivvet: keeping the shared record of each job, showing the right things to the right people, verifying trade accounts, sending the emails and notifications the product depends on (sign-in codes, milestone and payment updates), and keeping the platform secure. We don't use your data for anything unrelated to the service.
4. Who sees it
Rivvet is a shared record, so the other side of your job sees what the product needs them to see: a homeowner sees the evidence, milestones and invoices on their project and the trade's business details and bank details for payment; a trade sees the homeowner's name, project address and approvals. Beyond that, we use a small number of service providers to run the platform — email delivery, push notification delivery, private cloud storage for evidence, and Companies House for company lookups — each used only for that purpose. We never sell or share your data for marketing.
5. How long we keep it
For as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app: your sign-in identity is destroyed and your contact details are removed. Records of jobs you were part of are retained, because the other side of those jobs keeps their record of the work and we keep what the law requires — but they are no longer connected to a usable identity. You can also email trade@rivvet.co.uk and we'll handle it for you.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email trade@rivvet.co.uk and we'll sort it quickly. If you're not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
7. Changes
If how we handle data changes, we'll update this page first and change the date at the top.
